Abstract tesi di dottorato di Farina Lucia, matricola R06340 Dottorato di ricerca in ematologia sperimentale Background and objectives. Patients affected by relapsed follicular lymphoma (FCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) are candidate to intensive treatments to attain remission and possibly prevent disease recurrence Allogeneic SCT (alloSCT) is considered a potentially curative treatment since a plateau of serviva curves has been observed. The main advantage provided by allografting may reside in the immune-mediated graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) effect. In the last decade an increasing number of patients have been referred for an alloSCT with reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) that showed to be feasible in patients over the age of 55 years, heavily preated or in those affected by other medical comorbidites. The availability of a molecular tumor marker, based on the immunoglobulin heavy-chain gene (IgH) rearrangement or bcl-2/IgH rearrangement, allows the post-transplant monitoring of minimal residual disease (MRD) in patients in complete remission (CR) [...]
