In Italy immigrant children are 665.626 and their increase makes clear the transition occurred in recent years from a labour migration to a family migration. The studies conducted so far on this segment of the young population describe an heterogeneous world, where many different processes of inclusion could be identified. The research aim is to focus on a specific part of these young people, those who arrived in Italy in their preadolescence or adolescence. These boys and girls are particularly interesting because they are undergoing a dual tension which depends both on adolescent stage and the migration experience they are living. The aim is to understand how these young people construct their identities as individuals and as a group, using the concept of symbolic boundary which is considered a tool to define and to differentiate.
