Social capital and gender in labour market. The aim of this thesis is a comparative analysis of social and economic literature on social capital. Social capital is analyzed in the labour market, considering it as social relations useful in order find a new job. In the thesis we verify two hypothesis: the first one is that both educational level and social ties (with parents, friends and neighbours) influence strategies to seek work; the second one is that educational level and social ties have different influence on men and women. In order to verify these hypothesis, we use datasets from Istat about labour forces and about graduated in different years, so we can evaluate the successfulness of different kind of methods.
